Commercial vs Free Software Comparison

In a Word Document - complete the following - Save as "software comparison" on your P drive in your Word folder.  Add your name, hour and filename & path to footer.  Save again.  Print.  Due Friday, June 3, 2011
 
1) Define the following and give two examples of each (freeware, shareware, and commercial software you use at home and/or school) 
  • freeware (2 examples you use)
  • shareware (2 examples you use)
  • open source (do you use?  if so, give an example)
  • commercial software (2 examples you use)

Freeware is meant to be used by others, its a program that doesn't ususally have alot of features but is good when you need something done easily, Software is usually 'professional grade' equiptment, if someone is copying the software and decides to resell it, then they are stealing from a company and also pirateing software. There will always be people trying to steal software or posting free software on the internet. It's just the world we live in today. - Jacob Fulkerson
