iGoogle vs Windows Skydrive

Upload all three tab and table assignments (from Wed. May 18) to both your iGoogle and Skydrive.  Look at the document with leader tabs and the document with the table.  Compare and contrast iGoogle and Skydrive.  What differences do you notice?  Do you prefer one over another?  Why?

  1. With the table Windows Sky Drive opened as a read only file with the option of an edit tab, as for iGoogle I cannot say the same. iGoogle opened automatically ready to edit. This opens opportunities for many mistakes the be made. While looking at the leader tab files on both iGoogle and Sky Drive I realized that Sky Drive is almost exactly like word. It shows leader tabs and all. iGoogle shows blank spaces, and makes me feel like I forgot to finish or do an important part on a paper. If I had to chose which I prefer, it would have to be Sky Drive. Sky Drive is a lot like Microsoft, and it's very easy to navigate, unlike iGoogle.

  2. For differences, igoogle will take longer by a few seconds, it also converts the file into something it can use and won't keep it in a microsoft word format, so thats an issue if your accessing your files from home and still need to work on something. I prefer Skydrive over igoogle, it's faster, more efficient, and it just works better. - Jacob Fulkerson

  4. In Windows Live, it gives you the option to open the document in word, but iGoogle does not open back into word. I like Windows live better becuase it lets you edit your document in Word. Windows Live also lets you upload your documents into different folders which is better organization.

  5. I think there is a huge difference between the two. I personally like windows live a little better. The reason being is because, i feel a little more organized. There is so many options to edit your story when needed. There is also that option for igoogle to. Igoogle is like its own version of word, but its actually not. Windows live makes it seem like im actually on word. Windows live is really new to me, and so far i like it better than igoogle. The difference i see between igoogle and windows live is that igoogle automatically has edit options, and windows live doesn't. You have to click on the menu to get windows live edit bar to open. I personally think that windows live is much better. Windows live all the way. :D

  6. The differences I noticed between windows live and igoogle is; igoogle seemed to change the spacing between all the lines, but windows live does not. I like Windows Live a lot better it doesn't seem as complicated and you can also open it up in word if you need to edit.

  7. I noticed that on google docs a lot of the things on my document i would have to go and fix, because of google docs messed up the format of it. Windows live had everything right with my documents. when using a Microsoft program I would probably use Windows live. it seems to work a lot better than google and works really nicely.

  8. the differences i saw was that the skydrive showed the leader and i Google does not. if you need to edit the document, skydrive pulls up Microsoft word online to edit it. i prefer skydrive over IGoogle.

  9. I like Skydrive much better then IGoogle docs, because I feel it is easier to use and understand. I tryed two days in a row and I was unable to upload anything to my iGoogle docs account! :(
Also, with igoogle you are unable to use all of the nifty features that Windows2007 offers. I perfer Skydrive and will continue to use it instead of igoogle!

  13. It seems that skydrive's setting are much easier to use. Everything is much easier to edit, windows live makes it so that you are almost already in word. Also there are many ways to organize everything in folders, but with igoogle that option isnt there.

  14. In iGoogle I noticed that it took away the dots or the leader tab and also messed up the spacing however in sky drive it did not. When I looked at the sky drive everything looked like it did when I wrote it in Microsoft. I like sky drive better and I always have. It is easier to use and i like how it is set up just like Microsoft word. It even allows you to open it in word right there.

  16. On google docs, its a little harder to use the word documents and presentations rather than on Windows skydrive. Yet, windows skydrive is much easier to share stuff. I prefir Windows Skydrive.

  17. The Skydrive is more advanced and is pretty close to the same thing, but with igoogle it was pretty different and didnt recognize the advancement in word. So i would much rather use skydrive

  18. When on windows live its more like microsoft word then on google docs. For windows live its alot more realiable than google docs. On the docs it shows up more different like the leader tabs you do don't show up or the tabs get moved. For me i dont really prefer either because even if they're different they are still both easy access from any computer.

  23. Skydrive is so much easier to use and faster and their word editing supplies are way better. But for some reason I got used to Google Docs so I just use that.
